After pleading guilty to a second-degree murder charge for killing shooting his mother Barbara Waite, 64, while she sat playing piano in March 2020, the 24-year-old "Riverdale" and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" star will be unable to petition for parole for 14 years.

Before turning himself in to police in Vancouver, he drove to Mr. Trudeau's house with three firearms, ammo, and 12 Molotov cocktails in his car.

Due to Grantham's admission of guilt and expression of regret for the murder, his attorneys had claimed that he should be eligible for parole after serving 12 years.

However, British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Kathleen Kerr decided he must serve 14 years in prison after taking into account the actor's downward spiral in the months preceding the crime.

About Grantham:

When he was nine years old, Grantham began performing in movies and television. His resume also includes the movies The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, as well as the British Columbia-produced TV shows Riverdale, Supernatural, and iZombie.
