Global hardware giant MSI targeted by Money Message ransomware gang, who claim to have stolen source code and databases from the company's network and demand $4 million in ransom payment. Screenshots of alleged stolen documents have been posted on the group's data leak website, with a threat to publish them in five days if demands are not met. BleepingComputer has reported on the attack and the ransomware group's activity, including a chat in which the threat actors claimed to have breached MSI's systems and stolen 1.5TB of data. MSI has yet to respond to BleepingComputer's inquiries, and the validity of the ransomware group's claims has yet to be confirmed.

What is MSI
MSI, or Micro-Star International, is a Taiwanese multinational company that designs and manufactures computer hardware and related products, including motherboards, graphics cards, desktops, laptops, servers, industrial systems, PC peripherals, and infotainment products. MSI's systems refer to the various hardware and software components that the company produces, including the firmware and software code that runs on its products. The source code and databases of these systems are what the Money Message ransomware gang claims to have stolen in the reported attack.
